AcqURL

AcqURL is not only a bookmark manager, it is the simplest and most powerful way to find, organize and access any data you choose. AcqURL allows you to create your own searches on the fly by letting you decide which search engines you want to use for your search and which topic to search on. Just type in a topic, select the search engines you want to use from a user expandable list, and click search. Once you find exactly what you are looking for, one simple click stores the site for later retrieval. If you simply want to add a site to your AcqURL bookmarks, while surfing the net with your favorite browser, two mouse clicks will store the bookmark in any category you like. Information is found not only on web pages but on FTP sites and local/network hard drives as well. To address this AcqURL includes an FTP client with a unique sliding transfer graph, and the ability to bookmark and launch files from local and network drives. AcqURL will also let you check the validity of your web site bookmarks as well as show you if and when the site was updated. If a web page description and/or icon exists on the site, it will be captured when the site is bookmarked. If you want to modify the description, or add your own, just right click on the bookmark. Bookmark buttons and text can be color coded to find even easier. Icon can be added from almost any graphic source including: ICO, ICL, BMP, GIF, JPG, as well as DLL and EXE. Bookmarks can also be sorted in alphabetical order at any time. You can also print your bookmarks with margin and line spacing the way you want. If you have existing bookmarks you want to organize AcqURL can import from Netscape and Internet Explorer as well as from the clipboard, CSV files, and from the Internet directly. In fact one of the many powerful features of AcqURL is to import an entire Links page from the Internet. Not only can AcqURL import Links it can create the HTML code to create a Links page from your bookmarks.
